I could write an entire book about horses and how into them I am, but let’s just say that I was a horse from ages eight-to-fourteen. Former classmates still ask me, “Were you that girl who drew ponies and crawled around on all fours ALL the time?” You guys, I’ve seen a shit ton of horse movies.

The “bush with more birds than leaves, almost” is something I saw last time I was in Oklahoma. Now I’m back! If you’re anywhere near Tulsa, you should come by the Philbrook Museum tonight for The Graphic Art of Lisa Hanawalt. I’ll be hosting an “animals wearing hats” drawing contest (!) from 6-7pm, then reading some of my comics, talking about art and answering questions from 7-8pm.
